![]() This track is by one of the most influential bands of the 80s. Super catchy. Great lyrics that make you think, especially if you find yourself in one of those tricky predicaments. The second verse: I feel fine and I feel good I'm feeling like I never should Whenever I get this way I just don't know what to say Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday? You can find the rest of the lyrics here! The extended version of the song is definitely the best. By: Ulises R.1. All In My Head 2. Dear No One 3. Paper HeartsBy: Natasha A.
![]() Oblivion was selected by Pitchfork as the best song of the decade. This song is really deep and personal. Claire Boucher, known as Grimes, speaks about a horrible traumatizing experience. In an April interview, Boucher explained the song’s true meaning: The song is about being violently assaulted and it made me crazy for a few years. I got really paranoid walking around at night and started feeling really unsafe. The song is more about empowering myself physically amongst a masculine power, and the hate of feeling powerless, making light of masculine physical power, making it jovial and non-threatening. I took a typically violent cultural situation and made it pop and happy. Assault is huge issue in our society. Her tiny victory comes in the chorus line, "See you on a dark night" She shows her resilience by coping with her tragedy. ![]() This is a song I can't skip when it comes up. The beat to this song is sick. The bass and percussion hits pretty hard. However, it's the lyrics that really grab you...really empowering. Don't look ahead there's stormy weather Another roadblock in our way But if we go, we go together Our hands are tied here if we stay Santigold is trying to say that the future never turns out the way you plan, but as long as you have those that matter with you, everything will be okay.
