"For 60 years, Coco Chanel's creations defined the modern woman. The era's greatest celebrities adopted her style. She was the first woman to break into a man's world founding an empire which still bears her name. She never married. She worked up until her death in January, 1971. It was a Sunday, the day of rest, a day she never liked." | Coco Avant Chanel follows Gabrielle Chanel on her journey to becoming one of the most influential women in the world. From orphan to high-profile business woman, Gabrielle Chanel defies the norms as she takes on a male dominated society. Personally, this film left me energized and inspired for days on end. Even as I am writing this review, I feel mesmerized by this wonderful account. Watch this film to see how Coco Chanel redefined the world of fashion and created a legacy that remains untarnished. Audrey Tautou, one of my favorite actresses, beautifully embodies Coco Chanel. You certainly will not be disappointed by her role as Coco. Her performance alone should be a great enough reason to watch this film. (Yes, this movie is in French. Thank goodness for subtitles!) Watch the Trailer: |
